Towards Cooperation

A playground fight gets out of hand, punches are thrown. It calms down. Another fight breaks out the next day, heavier punches are thrown, noses bleed, bones are broken. Again the fight ends. Then, instead of fighting again the next day, an evolution of perspective occurs - let us form an alliance, to help each other and not to fight each other. To unify towards achieving prosperity, not to compete towards achieving extinction.
If there were a purpose to humanity, must it not be towards this direction of cooperation and well-being? And must not that direction be away from division and competition, and towards unification and humility?
Seven years ago those in favour voted to move Britain, symbolically, in the opposite direction towards an ideal of cooperation. In the opposite direction to humility. In the opposite direction to the direction that must be where humanity must move in - towards unity and cooperation.
The EU, (or any multinational union striving for peace, freedom and security), is a microcosm of a future world where free movement and cooperation are the norm. If it is possible within one of the largest areas of this world, it is possible in and for all areas.
The EU is not perfect, as is everything that exists. Yet it is a stepping stone towards achieving a humanity that is united and not separated. That is at peace and not at war.
Can Brexit have been a temporary madness? One that was necessary for British people to appreciate what they had and to imbue those who voted for Brexit with humility. To reconfirm a knowing - that across all corners of the globe, this species does have the capacity to work together and not against. To honour each country as a single cell in the body of humanity.
